The growing influence of digital media was on display this week when Yahoo hired former NBC and CBS News anchor Katie Couric to be their new “Global Anchor.” That Yahoo was able to obtain such a big name in the news industry speaks to its ability, and namely their deep pockets, to go get major talent. Regardless of political leaning, today is a great day for America and Americans. We celebrate the inauguration of a President, our country’s leader and commander in chief. And we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., perhaps the greatest human-rights activist of our time. Yet, instead of making me feel like what we do at Engage321 is a pale whisper in comparison, the inaugural poet Richard Blanco made my daily effort feel just as important as the President’s.
